The Stomachion is the least understood of Archimedes’ works. We propose literally inhabiting the geometry in an attempt to better understand it. Through a series of extrusions and subsequent carving operations, a three-dimensional set of rooms are created. These spaces are infinitely reconfigurable. Benchmarked off of a reference cube geometry, the interior space will appear clean and unbroken. Alternate configurations can produce unique figures: an elephant, a duck, and so on. Any deviation from the cube will result in a fractured interior space, demarcated by a highly contrasting side and interior panels. This invites new unplanned uses for the space.
